Adair Jewelers

The Largest Collection of Yogo Sapphires in the World

About Us

In October of 1982 our business began with the acquisition of the existing Don L. Davis store in Southgate Mall, Missoula, MT. The Davis store had a prime location and a favorable lease, so it was the right situation at the right time.

In the summer of 1985 James W. Adair retired from school administration to take an active role in the business since it was, in fact, his money that funded the purchase.

January of 1991 saw a generation change as Jim, Jr. and his brother Randy purchased the business from their father, with Randy ultimately selling his shares to Jim, Jr. (Randy followed his dream and became a pharmacist).

Kathy Adair joined the team in 1993 and is currently enrolled in GIA classes.

In late 1998 we took a leap of faith and decided to leave the mall. Our own free standing building was built and in August of 2000 our doors opened at 1325 S. Reserve Street.

With 6,000 sq. ft. and 55 showcases, we have the largest store in Montana with the largest bridal selection and the single largest collection of Montana’s own Yogo Sapphires (we bought out the mine in 2004). We also stock Montana’s largest collection of Belgium Hearts & Arrows cut diamonds.

Taking a different approach than most stores, we decided to concentrate in a few areas (bridal, diamonds, Yogo Sapphires, palladium, Montana Agates, pearls) and offer the largest selection and wonderful in-house jewelry repair with professional goldsmiths on staff.

Unlike most stores that use lab reports full of legal disclaimers, we stand behind our diamonds 100%, assuring you of a diamond worth owning.
